Movim is a open source social network software project and as such will provide all the common elements of other social networks like Facebook, Diaspora or Jappix. You’ll have a wall, an instant messaging system, a contacts list, a photo gallery, a news feed etc.
Your will be able to relocate your personal data at will, even on your home server. You profile will easily be exported to another Movim node (or instance).
This open source social network software is multilingual and built using standard web languages, no Flash, no Silverlight. Movim is optimized for modern browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera.
Movim relies on the enterprise-class XMPP protocol. You will never be locked in by a single vendor, your Gmail and Facebook contacts will be available, and even WLM, Yahoo and many others.
