Flapi – A Free Open Source Flash Gallery

Flapi is an open source Flash image gallery that uses the popular Flickr photo service to manage the images. You can easily integrate the viewer in your weblog, website or even in a Flash file to show your Flickr photo sets.

Free Flash Gallery For Flickr: Flapi

The viewer is easily customizable via an XML file that describes the various options:

  • which pictures or sets you’d like to display
  • if it should be as a slideshow
  • the colors
  • if there are thumbnails and such.

If you are web-savvy and wish to change the viewer even more you can download the original Flash source file and start hacking our code.

Cool Flash Portfolio Showcase Tools

How you showcase your portfolio is very important for any freelancer or design company. It reflects the way you do business, your attention to details and gives an overall feel of professional work. It can mean the difference from getting or losing clients.

To enrich your portfolio showcase you can use Javascripts based on the Prototype or Moo.Fx libraries, scripts such as Litebox, LightBox 2, Highslide JS, ThickBox & many others. These all work just fine, but are a bit too common these days. If you want something special, you have to go the extra distance, XML Flash based gallery scripts.

Here are some resources you can try. They all use XML and ActionScript and are fully customizable.
